Who Said Backlink Is Dead?

When I chat in Yahoo Messenger with a couple of friends, I used to hear they really confuse whether it’s still important to collect number of backlinks or not. Honestly, at least in SEO today, I don’t really give any attention to my backlinks number. Yet to prevent them just follow the wrong suggestion that said backlink is dead, I would like to explain it here. I don’t know it’s gonna be useful for you or not, but at least, I have explained all of them here. The rest is as usual, up to you.

However, before I begin, let me remind you why many people todays said that backlink is dead. As you all know, SEO today is a little bit easier than a month or a year before. Yet, you have to be able to create unique content and if possible, more unique than the direct competitors. Without this factor, I bet you will have so many difficulties to survive in the SERP battle. And that’s why many people outside there often said that backlink is dead. Is this opinion incorrect? I can’t say it so. Yet based on my personal opinion, although the value of backlink are less than the content itself, but we can’t ignore it at all. Now imagine if you have new domain name without backlink, will it grow to be qualified blog? That’s just the simple example. And I believe some of you already know the other so that I don’t need to write all of them here one by one.

Furthermore, when we’re optimizing any page or article for example, by submitting them to social bookmark still mean to get backlink. Then if you HATE spammy blog commenters like me who try to get as many backlink as I can just because you’re optimizing using dummy and internal post, it means that you still need backlinks too, right? So, who said backlink is dead? If you are one of them, then eat your SERP in nowhere position.
PS: I am sorry it’s a little bit emotional, I just need to clarify the wrong opinion coming from those who claimed themselves as SEO master or whatever
