The page ranking of a site is determined by a very complex algorithm. "The Google Page Rank value relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the Internet by using its vast global link structure as a prime indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives. It also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves important or are favorably viewed as "established firms" in the Web community weigh more heavily and help to make other pages look established too." Google now is introducing the Google+ community, thought up by the guru's to let the people communicate and share data using cross account data linking. Google Profiles, OpenID and the possibility to log in using Twitter, Orkut, and a lot of other communities. On top of that they introduced the Google +1 Button. Google is very careful to make the reader understand it's just a handy gadget, made to improve the browsing experience.

But wait... I am missing a number in the equation. Let's think what this all implies.
Site A has absolutely no impressions from the Google +1 Button tool. So the site has a neutral attraction to future visitors.
Site B has 100,000 Google +1 Button impressions. That means for the general public, that the site can be trusted, because apparently lots of visitors choosed to visit that site and give it their OK. The site has a positive attitude towards the visitors.
Site C is well known for the fact it distributes illegal software and installing unwanted applications and Trojan horses on the visitor's computer. ONE visitor (probably the owner of that site) gave it a Google +1 Button impression. To the general public it looks like the site can be trusted because it has a positive attraction. +1 = +1.
What we - as users / customers need is a Google -1 Button tool. In the case of site C in the example above, it would show a -99,999 attraction. Negative. Other social network sites, like Facebook suffer from the same problem. You can only LIKE a certain post, but never DISLIKE from the start. Calculations... Ain't it a funny thing?
